Today I was up at 6 am and ready to hit the gym. After being crammed with finals and adjusting to my new work schedule, my body has been neglected. Bad, bad, bad. 😦 If I miss more than two days in between gym visits, I am most likely not going back for the week. I need discipline in my life!
So, I woke up early, grabbed a quick cup of coffee and was out the door! I hit the weights (only girl in the weight room with about 5 burly men, awkward!) and did a full body workout. After, I did some light cardio on the elliptical for about 30 minutes. And, by light, I mean I watched Good Morning America. Hey, did you know two of the Dixie Chicks have formed a NEW band called, the Court Yard Hounds
? I love the Dixie Chicks, so I am glad at least two of them are making a come back!
I stopped by Kroger to grab a few things and then headed home to shower and eat breakfast. Today, I decided to re-create a Starbucks Frappucino! A little protein powder, instant coffee (my new fave) and banana….and yippee! A creamy, chocolatey coffee blend. It was so yummy and almost decadent with a kick from the coffee!
Adding instant coffee or espresso to chocolate intensifies the flavor!
1 banana, sliced
2 tsp. cornstarch ( I like mine thick)
2 tsp. unsweetened cocoa
1 Nescafe Instant Coffee Single
2 scoops of chocolate whey protein
a little skim milk
Just blend and adjust to your faux-frapuccino needs!
I am off to write my final paper of the semester and watch the Doctors
